Save Up to $4,000 — Cheaper Home Batteries Program
From 1 July 2026, the Queensland Government's Cheaper Home Batteries Program reduces the cost of a standard 11.5kWh home battery by around 30% — up to $4,000 off. Larger 50kWh systems qualify for up to $18,500 off.

What battery storage actually does for you
Most Brisbane households with solar are exporting a significant portion of their generated power back to the grid — and getting paid very little for it (typically 5–8 cents per kWh). Meanwhile they're buying power back from the grid at night for 28–35 cents per kWh.
